1 The fibers are contained within a loose tube made of high modulus plastic, filled with a water-resistant compound.

2 A layer of Kevlar wraps around the tube for added strength.

3 Water-blocking material between the Kevlar and the tube maintains the cable's compactness and waterproofing.

4 Finally, the cable is protected by a polyethylene (PE) sheath.
